Harley Leroy Janssen

Harley Leroy Janssen passed away into the receiving arms of Christ on August 19, 2015. He was born November 24, 1940 at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and most of all being a cowboy. He was raised on a hog farm in Harlan, Iowa and graduated from Harlan High School in 1959. He later moved to Phoenix in 1966 after serving four years in the Navy. He married Marla Jane Stewart of Phoenix August 2, 1969. With his wife he raised two sons in Gilbert and later moved to Yuma in 1988 where he was chief engineer for Western Precooling Systems. He was a skilled electrian and welder. He loved to read local news and novels. As a loved member of Oasis Church he was involved in mens Bible study and Awana childrens program. He is survived by his wife Marla Janssen, sons Matthew Janssen of Yuma, and Zachary Janssen of Mesa, and grandson Jacob Janssen of Yuma, his sister Barbara Morgan of Harlan, Iowa, Janssen cousins Jerry of Peoria, Dale of Campverde, Scott, and Lyle of Prescott. Memorial services will be held at Oasis Church on August 27, 2015 at 12 pm. In lieu of flower, donations are requested to Hospice of Yuma.
