Angelyn R. “Tuby” Escalanti, 41, passed away on April 21, 2026, in Fresno, California. She
was born on July 18, 1984, in Yuma, Arizona, to Peter A. Escalanti III and Teresa L. Rivera.
Angie carried a strong work ethic throughout her life and spent many dedicated years working at
the Quechan Casino Resort, Paradise Casinos, and Table Mountain Casino. Through her
commitment and kindness, she earned the respect of her coworkers and formed many lasting
friendships.
Angie shared her life with her spouse and forever partner, Joana Escalanti. Together in Fresno,
they built a life filled with love and beautiful memories, always surrounded by family.
Angie may have been small in stature, but her heart was truly giant. She was caring,
compassionate, and overflowing with love for everyone around her. She cherished every moment
spent with her nieces and nephews, creating memories filled with laughter and warmth. Angie
loved watching scary movies just as much as she loved Disney films, showing her playful and
lighthearted spirit. She always put others before herself and was the kind of person who would
help anyone in any way she could, without hesitation.
She is survived by her loving wife, Joana Escalanti; her father, Peter A. Escalanti III (Kamie);
her mother, Teresa L. Soriano (Henry); her brothers, Peter R. IV, Mark (Yesenia), Melo,
Anthony, JJ Escalanti, Henry, and Steve Soriano; her sisters, Josefa Fifer (Aaron), Priscilla
Obeso (Jaime), Nella, Nicole, and Jordan; and her uncle, Keeny Escalanti Sr. She also leaves
behind many nieces, nephews, and extended family from the Escalanti, Waco, Rivera, Pastores,
Kelly, Miguel, Soriano, Obeso, and Fifer families.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ruth and Ralph Rivera; her paternal
grandparents, Peter (Julia A.) Escalanti Jr. and Josephine M. Escalanti, great grandparents Peter
D., Mary K. Escalanti and her aunt, Anna M. Escalanti.
Our family is deeply grateful to everyone who cared for Angie and stayed by her side during
these difficult times. A heartfelt thank you to Joanna, Patricia, and your family in Fresno for the
love, compassion, and support you showed her.
