On Wednesday, November 3, 2021, Arthur Daniel Montaña, a loving and devoted father of two and one grandson, returned to our Father in heaven at the age of 62. He was known by his family and friends as Artie. He was born in Yuma, AZ to Arthur “Gordo” and Mary Lou “Lulu”. He would happily tell you that he was the first born and didn't let his siblings forget. Artie loved a good practical joke, especially when he was the one pranking his family or friends, and you knew he was successful when you heard him chuckle.
Artie graduated from Yuma High School and was proud to be a Criminal. Shortly after graduation, he joined the United States Army and served his country for four years.
He worked for the City of Yuma for a number of years before moving to Texas. Once settled in Texas, he worked as a HVAC technician with Aspen Air Conditioning and Heating. In his work, he served a number of people, but his smile and jovial personality are most remembered.
Even though Artie was taken too soon, he taught those around him how to love unconditionally, forgiveness, loyalty and to help those in need. He was recognized by many as a big brother.
Artie is survived by two sons Brandon and Bryan; grandson Anthony; sister Lisa (Rich) Richardson; brother Walter (Ruthey) Phillips and nephew Randy. He also leaves behind many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Artie was preceded in death by father “Gordo”, mother “Lulu”, step-father Terry Phillips and brother Albert.
Please join us as we celebrate Artie’s life at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 4 at Yuma Mortuary Chapel, 775 S 5th Avenue, Yuma, AZ.
