September 28, 1948 - September 16, 2025 Betty "Joyce" Cernik, 76, passed away on September 16, 2025. She was born September 28, 1948, to Virgil Poole and Betty Kilcrease in Wheeler, Texas, and spent most of her life in Yuma, Arizona.
Joyce was a dedicated real estate agent and broker who also volunteered her time with Amberly's Place, a charity supporting survivors of domestic violence.
She was a selfless woman who cared about her children more than anything. One thing everyone agreed on is that Joyce was the nicest person they had ever met-kind, genuine, and always ready to make others feel welcome.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Curtis Cernik, and her children: Gary Crotts and Stephen Crotts. She was preceded in death by her son Michael Crotts in 2024. Joyce also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Kaileigh Crotts, Addison Crotts, Michael "MJ" Crotts Jr., Alexis Crotts, and Stephen "Stevie" Crotts Jr.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Yuma Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Hospital in her honor.
