On the early evening of May 5th, 2025, Jean Wilson passed away peacefully at her home where she lived for the last 66 years. Jean was 92 years old. Jean was born in Battle Creek, MI, though she spent most of her life in Yuma, AZ.
She worked as a writer for the Daily Sun. Author of the Outdoors Column for many years. At the same time Jean was also a caregiver to elder individuals who became like family. Jean was also an Outdoors enthusiasts and spent her life volunteering for; campfire girls, girl scouts, as well as archery, fishing and hunting clubs. Jean Wilson was inducted in the Arizona Outdoor Hall of Fame for her years of contributions to Arizona's wildlife and outdoor heritage. Last but not least the matriarch of her family. A loving, strong, wise and guiding light that lead her family for 3 generations. A legacy that will live on.
Jean Wilson is preceded in death by her husband David "Okie" Wilson and younger daughter Carolynn June Wilson. Survived by her son and daughter Kevin and Anna. Grandchildren Rebecca, Jenna, Catherine and Carilynn. As well as many great Grandchildren.
