Brian Coley Obituary

The family of Brian E. Coley with heavy hearts wish to announce that he passed away on April 15, 2025.

Born in Yuma, Arizona to Ronald and Patricia Coley, he spent his first years in Bard, California, where his Grandfather and father were farmers.  Brian could tell you anything and everything about Cotton Pickers, Combines Cats and tractors, insecticides, herbicides.  You name it, he had the answer.  Brian was so proud to have this background and would tell anyone who would listen about Coley Farms.

Over the years Brian Lived in San Diego, Chandler, Arizona, Ivins, Utah and returned to Yuma in 2015.

One of Brian's greatest joys was being "Uncle Brian" to his nephews- Ethan, Aiden, Wesley and Jacob. He constantly inquired about those boys and well as his brothers (all 5 of them) and his only sister who he thought the world of. His cousin Nicole was more like a sister to Brian and he loved her like a sister.

Brian had the hugest heart and he would give his last dollar or cigarette to someone who needed it. he recognized the person who struggled with homelessness, mental illness and addiction. Brian fought these battles for almost 30 years. A long time, a very hard battle and existence. He had successes and he had failures along the way. Over the past 2 years though it seemed like his struggle became even more difficult and he was tired of it.

Brian was so fun and so funny when he was well, but at some point he lost the ability to recognize that he was able to make a better life for himself. He became so negative about almost everything.  The kind, funny, loving person he was didn't show up very much anymore and he really wasn't the same, the original Brian anymore. We've all really missed that guy.

Brian was preceded in death by Paternal Grandparents, Marvin & Audene Coley, his Father, Ronald Coley and Aunt Marva Thompson, Maternal Grandparents, Alfred & Eleanor (Cherrie) Ramirez, Uncle  Arnold Corley and Aunt Helen Ramirez and recently by his Cousin Justin M. Arviso.

Our hope is that Brian is finally at Peace. His mind and body no longer hurt, his heart is strong and he is rejoicing because he is resting with our Lord in Heaven and cracking jokes with Grandpa Alfred and teasing Aunt Helen.
