Charles “Chuck” Patrick Crawford, 62, passed away on September 11, 2023, in Yuma, Arizona.
Chuck was born on September 22, 1960, in Yuma, AZ, as the oldest of three children. He was a lifelong
resident of Yuma aside from the 7 years he served in the U.S. Army which took him to South Korea and
all over the United States. He would then go on to serve 30+ years of service to the U.S. Government,
specifically the Department of Defense in various roles, most notably as a Range Control Specialist for
the Yuma Proving Grounds.
Chuck was a loving husband, father, and friend to many. He made the effort to see the best in everyone
and was available to lend a helping hand to those in need. Chuck loved being with his wife and together
they enjoyed cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers, cooking, traveling, and especially exploring the
outdoors. The Yuma Desert was his favorite place, and he enjoyed every aspect of it whether it be
shooting, hunting, fishing, jeep riding and camping with close friends. There was nothing that gave him
more pleasure than telling stories and spoiling his grandchildren who affectionately called him “Papa”.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Ann Crawford of 34 years; four children, Patrick (Kaitlin) of
Atlanta, GA; Ashley of Phoenix, AZ; Charles “Robert” (Jazmir) and Michael of Yuma, AZ; two
Grandchildren, Sloane and Audrey; and two siblings, Stewart (Annie) Crawford and Claudine (Mark)
He is preceded in death by his parents Charles and Rachel Crawford; maternal grandparents Joseph and
Lucy Amavisca; paternal grandparents Claude and Vera Crawford.
