It is with heavy hearts to announce the passing of Charlotte Mary Hobbs. She passed away peacefully at Onvida Hospital due to complication from a fall three months prior.
She was the daughter of Charles Milton Hebberd & Edna May Hebberd. She was born in New York, Nassau, County Hempstead, where she lived till she was a teenager. They moved to San Diego, California. She became a bartender for many years in Pacific Beach. She met a submarine sailor, they married on October 22, 1973, while Willis Holmes Hobbs was on a two day leave from the sea.
They moved to Yuma, Arizona in 2001. She was a auxiliary member of the VFW. They started a trucking company, H & H Transport and drove trucks all over the United States. She became a widower in 2016 and she met Sammie Day, also a widower. They spent the next 10 years together, where she became a partner in Sam Day Auto Sales LLC. They helped many people get cars even with bad credit.
She loved traveling and shopping; she could spend hours in one store. But most of all a conversation over anything. She had a gift to gab. Politics or a good debate, it didn’t matter, she just loved to talk.
She is survived by son, Michael Lyon Hobbs; two grandsons, Trevor Charles Hobbs and Spencer William Hobbs; two brothers, Michael Bruce Hebberd and Peter Wesley Hebberd.
She will be missed and remembered always. She was the light in Michael’s life. Prayers to her as she takes her final journey.
Rest in Peace Mom,
Michael Lyon Hobbs
