Eduardo Macazan Obituary

Eduardo “Eddie” Macazan, born December 16, 1948, passed away on September 2, 2025, in Yuma, AZ.  He is preceded in death by both parents, Ysidro and Maria de la Luz (Arreola) Macazan, and also by siblings, Guadalupe and Eugene Macazan.

A devoted father to his son, Eduardo Macazan, Jr., who survives him, including siblings: Ernesto Macazan, Lucy Conde, Lydia (Frank) Torres, Rita (Herbert+) Ramirez, Victoria Chavez, and many Godchildren, nieces, nephews, and the next generation that he loved like his own hoisting many of us in his hand by doing a “pininis” handstand.

Eddie proudly completed the following: He was a 1968 graduate of Yuma High School, drafted to Vietnam where he honorably served in C Battery, 6th Battalion, 14th Field Artillery in the United States Army from May 1969 to April 1970, and a 1979 graduate of AWC, earning an associate of arts degree. He retired from Southwest Lumber as a sales associate employed from 1977 to 2018. He hosted weekly family gatherings and holiday events at “Yaqui Beach”. A die-hard Cowboys fan, a faithful church usher, a self-taught musician playing saxophone (remember Los Originals?), he enjoyed Tejano music and Oldies. He was also known as a jokester and as Tio Popcorn. He lived a life well-loved and will be fondly and frequently remembered.

Pallbearers: Benjamin Macazan, Nick Conde, Ernie Macazan, Jr., Frankie Torres, Jason Ramirez, and Isaac Moreno. Honorary: Sam Alvarado, Joel “Toby” Teeter, Joshua Carlon, Herb Ramirez, and Chris Torres.
