Frances Janet Williams, 62 an enrolled member of the Quechan Indian Tribe was born on October 4,
1958 in Los Angeles, California to Ursula Amador and Paul Williams she entered eternal rest on February
17, 2021 at Yuma Regional Medical Center surrounded by loved ones.
She was a graduate of San Pasqual High School in Winterhaven, California and obtained her degree in
Nursing in Los Angeles, California. “Franny” resided on the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation and known as
the “Queen of Coral Block”. Franny was well known for her kind and welcoming heart, she made friends
everywhere she went through her charismatic nature. She loved spending time with her children and
grandchildren. Frances major hobby was sewing which she had being doing for over 30 years. In her
spare time she could be found at the casino and any Tribal events. She was a pianist and loved music of
all genres, especially Rod Stewart and Billy Ocean; she was grateful to have seen Brenton Wood and
Ziggy Marely in concert.
Frances is survived by her son Timothy (Candy) Williams, daughter Lucia Saez, grandchildren, Elijah,
Azra, Kevin Jr, Vanity, N-Vee, Kataleya, great granddaughters Odessa Michelle Burdette Williams and
Abby Shai Thomas all of the Fort Yuma Indian Reservation, nieces Mary Brown, RoseAna (Jeremy)
Douglas, Lanisha Romero, Colleen Aguilar, uncle Warren (Brenda) Flame, aunts Debbie Delgado, Ressie
Watts and Juliana Comet all of the Fort Yuma Indian reservation, aunt Fiona Yazzie of Parker, Arizona
and numerous cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ursula Mendez and Paul Williams, son Matthew Thomas,
grandparents Richard and Rosalie Wheeler, sisters Valerie and Charlene Williams, nephew Alfonso
Romero Jr, nieces Ceria Romero and Ernestine Aguilar, great niece Ariel Gilbert, uncle Cryil Parker,
cousins Richard Watts, Jessica “Pinky” Ruiz and Brandon Ruiz.
A viewing will be held at Yuma Mortuary on Friday, March 5, 2021 with services to begin at 6:00pm by
Pastor Russel Garlit. Tribal Rites to follow beginning midnight at the Quechan Big House.
Pallbearers are Joseph Aragon Sr., David Sanchez, Clifton Fierro, Alex “Bubba” Dees, Charles “Petey Boy”
White, John Shepard III and Bruce Montague.
