Glenda Frances (Turner) Marlow was born in Springfield, MO December 2, 1952 to Douglas and Phyllis (Brooks) Turner. She ascended to be with the Lord July 29, 2024.
Her family moved to Springfield, IL and then to Salome, AZ when she was in grade school. It was in Salome that she trusted Jesus to be her Savior as did her dad. The family then moved to Yuma, AZ where she finished her schooling, graduating from Yuma High. While in Yuma, she attended Bible Baptist Church where she was one of the original members. Frances also went on numerous Mission Trips into Mexico with Missionaries and her family. After graduating high school she moved back to Springfield, MO to attend Baptist Bible College. This is where she met the love of her life (Ken Marlow) and they were married May 20, 1971 at a midnight ceremony.
Later in the summer of 1971, Ken and Frances accepted God’s call to the ministry of serving at Calvary Baptist Church in Sterling, CO. They were both faithful servants for more than 50 years before retiring and moving to Yuma, AZ. While in Sterling, Frances served in many capacities of the ministry where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, led a Ladies Ensemble among many other responsibilities. Frances was a stay-at-home mother until 1984, where she then went to work at a local bank. She started out in the proof room and eventually became an Officer and then on to being an Investment Broker. Frances truly excelled at anything that she did, as she did it for the glory of God.
In 2020, family and friends started to notice that Frances was not acting quite herself. In late December of 2020 her daughter took her to Yuma, AZ to have her checked out. In early January 2021 she was diagnosed with Dementia. This was not only devasting news to her but to everyone that knew and loved her. Ken and Frances moved to Yuma, AZ later in 2021 as this is where Frances always wanted to retire to. This disease stole Frances from us way too soon and progressed rapidly, taking her just 3 and a half years after being diagnosed.
She was preceeded in death by her parents Douglas and Phyllis (Brooks) Turner, her sister Victoria Turner, her father and mother-in-law Don and Bobby (McLemore) Marlow, brothers-in-law Jerry Marlow, Howard Pankratz and nephew Andrew Kontz.
Frances is survived by her husband Ken Marlow, son Paul (Joe) Marlow, daughter Becky Marlow Japp, sister Kathy (Johnny) McCloud, nephews John (Toni) McCloud, Dan (Loni) McCloud, granddaughter Brooklynn (Trace) Elliott, grand son Austin Japp, great grandchildren Ryker & Ryatt Elliott, great nephews and nieces Phil and Kalli McCloud, and Laney and Brett Bodine, sisters and brothers-in-law Carolyn Marlow, Patricia (Larry) Chandler, Bobby Marlow, Mary (Richard) Kontz, David (Vicky) Marlow, Peggy Marlow and numerous nieces and nephews.
Frances’ celebration of life will be held at 10:30am on August 15, 2024 at Bible Baptist Church in Yuma, AZ. The service will be live streamed for those who cannot attend in person.
