Jack Millard, beloved husband, father, grandfather and uncle, was born on November 3, 1938
and passed away on February 25, 2026. His wife of 55 years, Joanne Millard, passed away one
day before him. Born in Santa Monica, California, Jack earned both a Bachelor’s Degree and
Master’s Degree in History from the University of California, Los Angeles. He wore many hats
over the course of his career, working as a writer, a social worker, and a substitute teacher for
the Yuma School District.
Jack was passionate about learning and read widely, in topics including history, literature,
science, medicine, art history, film, and the sport of boxing. He had an encyclopedic knowledge
of classic films; historical epics were his favorite. He instilled in his children the importance of
honesty and compassion for others. He is survived by his son Robert Millard, his daughter
Kathleen “Jeanie” Lohmann, his son-in-law Brian Lohmann, grandsons Django George Lohmann
and Alistair Keefe Lohmann, and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at
a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to ChildFund or Doctors
Without Borders.
