James Lamar Kressler

 

James Lamar Kressler,80,of Corry,PA,passed away on Saturday,November 22, 2025 at Onvida Health in Yuma, AZ with his loving wife by his side.

 

James was a " New Years Baby" born January 1,1945 in Danville,PA to the late James Jr Kressler and Sallie( Hahn) Kressler. 

 

Jim was raised and educated in Bloomsburg, PA. He moved to Corry,PA  in 1969. He worked at Ajax Iron in Corry before going to General Electric in Erie,PA. where

he worked for 37 years,  retiring in 2007. In his last few years there he was sent out on the road to cities across the states to repair train  locomotives. Jim was a "Jack of all trades" , he could build or fix anything.

 

After retirement he and his wife,Debbie, sold their house on E. Pleasant ST. in Corry and  took their 5th wheel on the road. The first  year they wintered in Yuma, AZ. In the spring of 2008 they took off to Alaska.They saw all lower 48 except Hawaii. Jim always said "There's no bridge to drive there". He had a keen sense of humor  and always had a quick come back to anything ! He loved to joke and have fun. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers and could be heard cheering for them EVERY game. 

 Jim and Debbie decided to winter in Yuma and have since 2007. 

 

Jim was a lifetime member of the American Legion in Corry, a member of the Moose Lodge in Corry, Loyal Order of The Elks in Erie, PA and the Eagles Nest in Yuma, AZ.

 

 

Jim served  in the US Army and after discharge was in the Army National Guard for 7 years.

 

Jim is survived by his wife Debora L. ( Swantek ) Kressler, whom he married on July 23,1991 in Winchester, VA. 

 

2 daughters,Kress ( Jeff ) Day of Hamburg,NY , Jamie ( Jose ) Rodriguez of Erie, PA, 

2 sons, Bud Kressler of Corry, PA,   Trevor Kressler of Olcottt, NY. 

Step-son Scott Raupach of Corry, PA 

Step-daughter Amy Raupach of Corry,PA. 

Brother,  Lloyd Kressler of Millville,PA. 

His best buddy " Gizmo" his beloved dog. 

 

He is survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

 

There will be a celebration of life at a later date in Corry. 

 

Arrangements are under the care of Yuma Mortuary and Crematory in Yuma, AZ.
