Jo Ellen Hill (Thornburg)

Jo Ellen Hill was born in Brawley, CA and grew up in Holtville, CA.
She attended Holtville schools, Kinder through 12th grade. She graduated
from Holtville High in 1980. She excelled in academics as well as sports.
She went on to obtain an AA at I.V.C in business and finished her
education at ASU (Arizona State University) in Phoenix where she obtained
her teaching certificate specializing in Special Education. She and her
family lived and worked in Yuma for over 25 years and in Holtville for 5
years running Hill’s Truck & Auto.

She is survived by her husband Doyle Franklin Hill, her son Doyle
Christopher Hill, daughter Jaclyn Lorene Justice (Hill), brother Gary Lee
Thornburg (Partner Jackie Louise Turner), Erica Leigh Thornburg, Mother
Joan M. Thornburg, Granddaughter Brooklyn Lorene McBride, 5
stepchildren, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Her big heart and
welcoming arms will be missed by all.

A celebration of life will be held October 4th at 11:00 AM at the family
home in Holtville 908 Orange Ave, CA 92250.
