Margaret Cranny Obituary

Margarita Ramirez Rodriguez Cranny , 53, Went to be with our heavenly father on October 22nd 2023, in Yuma, Arizona. She was born on February 10th 1970 In Yuma, Arizona to "Maggie" Margarita Ramirez and "Memo" Guillermo Rodriguez. She was a 2nd generation Mexican American daughter born to hardworking and industrious immigrant parents.
Sociable, friendly and compassionate Margaret was very active in school, and well liked in many clubs and extracurricular activities she had a flair for dance and gymnastics and had a profound love of music, cooking and  horticulture. Margaret met her future husband Ian working at Chretins in Yuma in the late 80's early 90's. The two had their first child shortly before the family was stationed in Flagstaff and then in Georgia. A military wife Margaret dedicated her time to her two children and was pulled back to Yuma due to the sudden illness of her father and then mother her caring and nurturing demeanor shining through it all. Although she had to leave school to help her family and then Yuma School of Beauty due to the birth of her first child, Margaret was able to get her G.E.D. later in life while she was training to become Assistant Store Manager for Walmart and working to co-support her two children. A title she received after working for the company for 13 years and had, had the pleasure of meeting Sam Walton. Never judgemental and very open to people of all walks of life Margaret's connection with God led her down many paths and introduced her to many people born and raised Catholic Margaret was not rigidified by her religion but was very open and accepting of people of all religions though she considered herself a devout Christian with a strong spiritual connection with the divine. In the early 2000's Margaret was diagnosed with Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia, in the face of the physical limitations these ailments placed on her Margaret never allowed these ailments to prevent her from helping others. She spent her time gardening, cooking, studying and what she loved most volunteering. Between 2004 and 2020 Margaret volunteered at 6 different thrift stores/non-profit organizations among them were Operation School Bell/Assistance League of Yuma, The Habitat for Humanity Restore, The Humane Society Thrift Store and Amberley's Place. But this was not all! Margaret went global cultivating several species of Plumerias from home and making friends and connections internationally. During this time Margaret adopted her sons Angel and Isaac and took pride in all of their accomplishments. Prepared to re-enter the workforce Margaret began assisting her daughter at Autentico Sapore Italiano a small locally owned Italian restaurant located in the Colorado River State Historic Park where she wined and dined patrons with her charming personality and sassy attitude. Through all the trials in her life Margaret was never one to back down holding her head high with perseverance, determination and a quick comeback. The presence and grace of this social butterfly was seen and felt by so many and though her loss is painful and unfathomable, who she was and what she did will forever be in the hearts of those she helped.
