Margaret Dwyer Obituary

Margaret June Dwyer (June), 93, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, at home in Yuma, Arizona, surrounded by loving family.

She was the second child born to Margaret and Thomas Harkins of Ocean City, New Jersey.  June arrived at the family home on June 6, 1932.  She had an older sister, Helen, and a younger brother, Phil. Her parents, her sister, Helen, and her daughter, Cindy, preceded her in death.

June graduated from high school in 1948, and spent the next years proudly raising six children, Cindy, Debbie, Pam, Phil, Rick, and Harriet. She moved the family around the country several times, often by herself, as the wife of a military member who served in the Korean conflict and three tours in Vietnam.  She was active in the community, enjoyed hosting social events, and had fun participating in bowling leagues.

Later, June met David Dwyer, and in the mid-1980s, they married. The couple resided in Hagerstown, Maryland, for several years, where David worked as an accountant.  David was also an avid golfer who took an annual golf trip to Fayetteville, North Carolina, and in 1990, he accepted an offer to work as an accountant at a golf course in the area. He and June bought and renovated a house in Fayetteville, where they lived until David passed away in 2017.  June and David also had a pet Bichon Frise dog named Mya.

In June 2019, she moved to Yuma, Arizona, to be closer to her youngest daughter, Harriet, and Harriet’s family.  June continued her active participation in the Catholic church, and she enjoyed time with Mya and especially her cherished family.

June is survived by her children, Debbie, Pam, Phil, Rick, and Harriet; her brother, Phil; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Services will be announced at a later date.
