Mercedes C. Castillo

Mercedes “Meche” C. Castillo gained her angel wings on 19 March 2023 in Yuma, Arizona, her home since 1969. 

Mercedes was born on October 3, 1941 to Maura and Francisco Castro in San Luis R.C. Mercedes and her late husband Avelino went on to have 10 children. Mercedes was then blessed with 27 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren. 

Mercedes enjoyed spending her free time making her delicious food such as her popular tamales, pozole and tortillas for her family. She enjoyed spending time with her family; traveling, going to casinos and having family gatherings. Mercedes will be remembered for her tremendous faith, strength and unconditional love that she gave and taught to not only her family but to everyone she met. Her selflessness and compassion have left lasting footprints on the hearts of her family and those who knew her. She was greatly loved and she will be greatly missed.
