Michael Benjamin Cartier

Michael “Mike” Benjamin Cartier, of Yuma, Arizona, passed away on January 26, 2025.
He was 83.

Mike came to Arizona when he was 2 years old. He graduated from Yuma High School
in 1959. After high school, Mike went into the United States Army where he was a
heavy equipment mechanic. After the Army, used his heavy equipment mechanic skills
to work in Farming and produce. Mike went on to work at YPG, Bruce Church Inc.,
Ramsey Farms, Martori Farms and Rodriquez Brothers. He met a lot of people along
the way. Mike can be quoted as saying, “I can fix anything that runs.”

Mike is preceded in death by his mother, Ernestine Cartier, his father James Francois
Cartier, his sister Beverly Dwyer and his grandson Cody Iorns. Mike is survived by his
wife, Martha of 45+ years. Mike has three children from his previous marriage, Stacey
Cartier, Pamela Clark and Christopher Cartier. Mike has three step children, Billy Webb,
Robert Power and Debbie Power. Mike has 6 grandchildren, Michael, Melissa, Nicole,
Kyle, Kelsey and Asher. Mike also has one great grandchild, Bradley.

Mike always called Yuma home. In his younger years, Mike enjoyed vacations with his
family in the White Mountains and El Golfo. He also liked hunting. Deer, dove, quail,
geese and turkey would be the likely targets. Mike enjoyed fishing at Mitry Lake,
Martinez Lake and anywhere on the river. A trip to Laughlin, NV was always a good
weekend get-a-way for Mike and Martha. Later in life he just liked to watch his kids fish,
watch old westerns and early morning trips to Walmart, where he was a favorite
customer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Britain Farms on Sunday, February 23 at 1:30-
3:30pm. Join us for some good food and friends as we celebrate the life of Mike Cartier.
Special thanks to Bill Britain and the staff at Yuma Care Center. The staff cared for him
as if he were their own. You kindness will always be remembered.
