Philip Val Means, known to many as Val, passed away on December 2, 2025, in Yuma, Arizona, at the age of 68. Born on February 13, 1957, in Phoenix, Arizona, Val lived a life marked by dedication to his family and service to his country.
Val proudly served in the United States Navy, embodying a spirit of commitment and honor that remained with him throughout his life. His time in the military was a defining chapter that reflected his deep sense of duty and patriotism.
He was the beloved son of Philip Means, who preceded him in death, and Joan Means, who passed away shortly after him. Val carried forward their legacy through the strong bonds he nurtured with his own family. He is survived by his children: Jodi Means, Aaron Means, Kevin Means (Stephanie Means), Amber Humphrey, Brenda Del Vecchio (Matt Del Vecchio), Britney Frantz (Ricky Frantz), Kelsey Sanchez (Elijah Sanchez), McKenzie Means, and Trevor Means. His love extended across generations to include 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Val’s devotion to family was evident in every aspect of his life. Whether spending time with his children or enjoying the company of his grandchildren, he found joy in being surrounded by those he loved. His faithful dog Daisey was also a cherished presence in his life who brought him comfort and companionship.
May the memory of Philip Val Means bring peace and strength to all who knew him. His legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the family he held so dear. A Memorial Service will be held on January 24, 2026, at 10:30 AM at The Groves - Alta Vista 5848 E. University Drive. Graveside service at 12:00 pm with a luncheon to follow.
