Richard Elliott Obituary

On Sunday September 8th 2024 Richard Elliott, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather passed away at home with loved ones by his side. aged 82yrs.
Richard was born in Fairfield California to Raymond and Roberta Elliott.  He graduated high school in 1960. Richard was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and proudly served aboard the USS Bennington from 1960 until 1964.  He worked in telecommunications as an installer and later in engineering.  Richard married his first wife Barbara in 1965 and they had two sons Shawn and Michael.

In 1982 Richard met Paula and they were married in New Zealand in 1988. with this marriage Richard gained a daughter, Deborah. Richard and Paula spent many happy years camping, fishing, dancing and travelled several times to New Zealand visiting Paula's family. After retirement they became snow birds travelling to Yuma Arizona and making many wonderful friends, eventually moving there until Richards passing.

Richard was a family man and loved to work around his home and garden. He loved to take his boys four wheeling on the sand dunes in Northern California, fishing and camping and loved to take Debbie boating and water skiing. When the grand children arrived he did all the same with them.
Richard was diagnosed with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma in 2011, again in 2016 and the third time in 2024. He was always courageous through this and always positive and always had a smile on his face.

He is predeceased in death by his parents Raymond and Roberta Elliott, his brothers, Donnie, Lester, Dwayne and Sharkey and his son Shawn.
He is survived by his loving wife Paula, sister Darlene ( John) Son, Michael (Stacey) of Meridian Idaho. Daughter, Deborah (Richard) of Auburn Washington.
Five grandchildren, Darcey (Darrel), Kasee, Victoria, Thomas and Alex. Five great grandchildren, Rain, Emilea, Buddy Lee, Malina and Smiley.
