Rita Barbara Gill Valenzuela, age 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on December 19, 2025. She was born on July 31, 1938, and lived a life defined by love, generosity, and quiet strength. Rita was a woman whose heart was always open to others. She found great joy in cooking and gardening, and her kitchen was often a place of warmth, laughter, and comfort. Her meals were more than food—they were an expression of her love. Whether tending to her garden or lending a helping hand to anyone in need, Rita lived with compassion and selflessness.
She is survived by her loving family: Nancy Valenzuela, Joel (Mary) Valenzuela, Chris Valenzuela; Grandchildren Melissa Valenzuela, Christopher Valenzuela, Dominic McCoy, Ronin McCoy, Amelia McCoy, Julian Valenzuela, Joel Carlos (Sonya) Valenzuela, Joel Jr. Valenzuela, Zariah Valenzuela, Bionca Valenzuela, Allyson Valenzuela who were the pride and joy of her life. Siblings Frances Call, Sylvia Quesada, Berlinda Valdez, Fred Covarrubius and many neices and nephews. Rita cherished her family deeply, and her legacy lives on through the love she gave and the values she passed down.
Rita will be remembered for her kindness, her nurturing spirit, and the way she made everyone feel welcome and cared for. Though she is no longer with us, her love remains in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
