Tommy A. Moreno, age 86, of Somerton, AZ passed peacefully at his home on Nov 8 th ,
2025 surrounded by his beloved wife, children and furry friend Fedo.
He was born in Gadsden, AZ on Sept. 22 nd , 1939, to Juanita Moreno, he was the
youngest of his siblings. He attended Yuma high school and graduated in 1958. He
worked as a mechanic for 40 years and retired from John Deere/RDO in 2001.
On October 23, 1965, he married the love of his life Petra Moreno and together they
became the epitome of a marriage. They celebrated their 25 th ,40 th , 50 th and just recently
their 60 th wedding anniversary. Their love for each other will continue forever.
Tommy was the most amazing father, caring, loving and supportive. He loved to be
involved in his children’s sporting events and never missed. He was a great teacher of
life lessons and gave the best advice. He was the source of strength and kindness in
the family and was the most hard-working person they knew.
Tommy not only loved his role as a husband and father, but as a grandfather as well. He
treasured his time with his grandchildren. He loved to attend his grandkids’ sporting
events and loved the presence of the grandkids running around his home and riding
around on his lawnmower. The big smile on his face with just the sight of his grandkids
was priceless.
Tommy was a well-known friend to the Yuma and Somerton community, and all have
used the phrase “He was an amazing person” and that he was to all. He was an
advocate in the Catholic community from an altar boy to an usher where he volunteered
his time. He did not lack friendships as he had many.
Tommy and his beaming smile will be deeply missed by all family and friends. He was
an exceptional husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, God father, brother,
uncle, cousin and friend. All who knew him were truly blessed to have had such an
amazing person in their lives. “This is not a goodbye, it’s until we meet again”
Tommy was preceded in death by his mother Juanita and his siblings Paula, Jenny,
Rafael, Antonio, Irene, Priscilla and is survived by his wife Petra and children Xavi,
Richard, Liz, Danny, Tommy Jr., Lupita, son in laws Victor, Henry, daughter in laws
Cecilia, Connie along with his 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, sister Alicia
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral mass will be held Nov 22 nd , 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Parish
located at 505 S Avenue B Yuma, AZ 85364 @ 10:00 am.
Celebration of life to follow at the Elks Lodge located at 1917 W. 32 nd St. Yuma, AZ
85365 @ 12:00 pm.
