Winfield Wayne Chaipos Sr, 74, of Ft.Yuma Quechan Indian Reservation , went to be with
Creator on January 29,2024 at home surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Wayne W. Chaipos Sr. is survived by his wife Rosaline of 40years, sons Wayne (Stella)
Chaipos Jr and Colin Taylor, ,daughters Estella Renteria, Malissa (Gregory) Hammond-
Chaipos, Grandsons James Chaipos, Josee Hammond and Daimon Taylor,
Granddaughters Vanessa Renteria, Azellia Olmos, Bryana Taylor, Lilyana Taylor, Alanah
Taylor,and Faye Short, Nieces Roberta”Tukkut” Chaipos-Sass, Candice Chaipos, Adina
Alvarez, Andrea Chaipos, Sharon Renteria and Diana Waters, Nephews Robert Chaipos,
Christopher Chaipos, Thomas Chaipos, David Waters, Dwayne Waters, Charles Jose and
Maunel Flores and numerous Great nephews,nieces. Wayne Sr. was a loving father,
husband, grandfather, and Uncle to everyone.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Susie Chaipos Sr, (maternal
grandmother)Pasqualita Thomas, ( brothers) Harold Chaipos Jr. , Amick Chaipos,
(Sisters) Andrea Waters, Eileen, Cheral and Susana Chaipos, (Grandsons) Jeremiah
Chaipos,Kalum Chaipos , (nephews) Dexter Bruce Waters, Owen Chaipos, and Lewis
Mucaw Jefferson (uncles) Harold Thomas and William Thomas, (aunts) Lydia Manchado
and Edith White.
Wayne Sr. Graduated from San Pasqual High School in Winterhaven,Ca and went on to
attend Haskell Indian College for Architecture. He worked as a Security Guard for Paradise
Casino for 10 years and 5 years at the Tribal office after he was requested by Mr.Escalanti
our tribal president at the time. He was known for playing in bands all through California
from Escondido to Winterhaven and on; some his favorite instruments being: the Guitar,
Drums and the Oregon. He spent his free time playing his guitar and enjoying his family
company. In High School he played football, basketball and track making All League
Honorable Mention. He also enjoyed reading his books and learning holistic techniques and medicine.
Winfield was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects,
he was someone who would always be honest with you and hear you out. I know all of our
family will miss our conversations and deep talks.

FUNERAL SERVICE
Family Viewing will be at 1:00pm-2:00pm Followed by Public Viewing at 2:00pm -
4:30pm then proceed to the Quechan Indian Reservation Big House for tribal rites on
February 4, 2024 at 5:00 pm. Cremation will be Monday February 5,2024 at 5:00 am.
All friends and family are welcome.
