Vern, I was very sorry to hear of your mother's passing.When Sandy and I were down in March, I was very fortunate to have met her. She was a very special lady. While Sandy and Carol were in talking with Misty, I was able to sit and talk with her. She was telling me how much she appreciated you and especially Misty taking really good care of her. She said she was sometimes a handful and we had a good laugh at that. I told her I guess that's the way it is as we get older and our kids help take care of us. Kind of like payment back for when they were kids! She agreed and laughed. She also said how much she liked having Carol come over and visit with her. Your mom also mentioned how Misty would turn the television on for her for her "special" programs, and we watched one of them while I was there! And then I was able to see her again at Carol and Fred's for the barbeque before we left to come back home.
Vernon, it was wonderful and heart warming to see how your family gathered around taking such loving care of their parent. I know she loved you all and appreciated all you did for her. I'm really proud of you and your family! Your mom will be sorely missed!
